Electrospinning / spraying system


Make and Model: NanoNC ESR100H


Description: Electrospinning / Electrospraying are simple yet effective nanofiber, thin films, and nanoparticles fabrication techniques. It employs a high voltage electric field to draw electrostatically charged polymer solutions and melts into nanometer range nanofibers and nanoparticles. Polymer solution/melt characteristics and electric field can be modified for desired morphologies.






Basic Electrospinning System

Home built: A locally made electrospinning system using a high voltage power supply and syringe pump. Ideal for preliminary studies on electrospinning and electrospraying for making nanofibers and coatings.





Potentiostat / Galvanostat / ZRA

Make and Model: Gamry Reference 600


Description: The Reference 600™ is a high performance Potentiostat/Galvanostat/ZRA for demanding electrochemical applications.




UV-Vis Spectrophotometer

Make and Model: Shimadzu UV-1800


Description: The Shimadzu UV-1800 is a compact UV/VIS spectrophotometer with a resolution of 1 nm. It is equipped with a variety of measurement modes such as photometric mode, spectrum mode, quantification mode, kinetics mode, time-scan mode, etc. enabling one to perform a range of applications.



UV-Vis-NIR Spectrophotometer

Make and Model: Jasco V-770


Description: The V-770 UV-Visible/Near Infrared spectrophotometer features a unique single monochromator design with automatically exchanged gratings: 1200 lines/mm for the UV-Visible region and 300 lines/mm for the NIR region. It is equipped with integrating sphere and can be used to analyze, liquid, solid, powder and films etc.



Differential Scanning Calorimetry / Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (DSC/TGA)

Make and Model: TA SDT Q600


Description: The SDT-Q600 provides an accurate simultaneous measurement of weight change
(TGA) and differential heat flow (DSC) on the same sample.



Surface Area and Pore Size Analyzer

Make and Model: Quantachrome Nova 2200e


Description: Measures surface area using B.E.T. method (single and multipoint) and pore size distribution (NLDFT, BJH) of mesoporous materials.






Optical Microscope

Make and Model: Olympus BX51M
Description: The BX51M is a relflected light upright microscope with both brightfield and darkfield objective lens of 5x, 10x, 20x, 50x and 100x.





Scanning Electron Microscope

Make and Model: FEI Nova 450 NanoSEM
Description: The Nova NanoSEM 450 field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) delivers best-in-class imaging and analytical performance in a single, easy-to-use instrument and enables you to gain the most comprehensive answers in the least amount of time. In addition to standard ETD and TLD detectors it is equipped with CBS, STEM and LVD detectors. It is also equipped with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy and E-beam Lithography.




Contact Angle and Surface Energy Measurement

Make and Model: Kruss DSA30 Drop Shape Analyzer


Description: DSA30 is a robust instrument which can be used flexibly for the precise measurement of contact angle and surface free energy. Measurement of surface tension and liquid-liquid interfacial tension is possible by using the Pendant Drop method.
